In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank C. and Robert E. Yeager and two sisters, JoAnn Sluser and Nancy Harp.
Funeral service was February 12, 2013 at Rowe Mennonite Church, Shippensburg, PA. Interment was in Rowe Mennonite Church Cemetery.

GOSHEN - Anna Barbara (Cross) Yoder, 82, died Saturday afternoon, July 19, at Courtyard Healthcare, where she had been since April.
She was born June 25, 1932, in Middlebury to Enos and Mattie (Yoder) Cross.
On Nov. 23, 1950, she married Irvin C. Yoder in Middlebury.
He survives along with seven children, Rosa Marie Yoder of St. Clair Shores, Mich., Warren Mark (Marla Kauffman) of Newton, Kan., Norma Ann Yoder of Niles, Mich., Loretta Sue (Dannie) Mast of Middlebury, Richard Irvin (Anita) Yoder of Greenwood, Dwight Allen (Dianne Smith) Yoder of Mobile, Ala., and Wesley Paul (Jill) Yoder of Goshen; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Vernon (Arlene), LeRoy (Esther) and Joseph (Alpha) Cross, all of Goshen; and a brother-in-law, Calvin Borntrager of Middlebury.
She was preceded in death by her father and her mothers, Mattie (Yoder) Cross and Sarah Ann (Bontrager) Cross; three sisters, Rosa (Cross) Borntrager, Mary (Cross) Schrock and Fannie Cross; and three brothers, Daniel, George and Elmer Cross.
A member of College Mennonite Church, she was actively involved with Mennonite Women, making hundreds of comforters and quilts for relief efforts.
A homemaker, she worked in sales at Blue Fin Boats and at Greencroft in housekeeping and laundry.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 21, and for one hour prior to the 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Pamela Yoder of College Mennonite Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Miller 8 Square Cemetery, Goshen.

Yoder, Anna Barbara Cross, 82, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died July 19, 2014 at the same place. She was born June 25, 1932 at Middlebury, IN to Enos and Mattie (Yoder) Cross. GOSHEN - At the age of 98 years, Gerald J. Yoder of Goshen, joined his wife, Maggie, in heaven Thursday, April 10.
He was born in Topeka, to Edwin J. and Molly (Stoltzfus) Yoder.
When Gerald was 16 his mother died unexpectedly, and a year-and-a-half later his stepmother, Mary, joined the family.
On March 3, 1940, Gerald married Maggie Yoder. She died Dec. 22, 2010.
They were the parents of five children, Wilmetta (Norman) Maust, Warren (Janet) Yoder and Wes (Ruthie) Yoder, all of Goshen, Waneta (Stephen) Riegsecker of Middlebury and Wealtha (Dave) Helland of Rockford, Ill. There are 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Gerald was one of five children of which three survive, Gladys Johns, Grace (Ed) Miller and Galen (Esther) Yoder.
His older sister, Genevieve Friesen and two brothers-in-law, Dewayne Johns and John Friesen are deceased.
Gerald actively farmed until he was 90 years old, and then he spent the next four years caring for his wife, Maggie, who suffered from Parkinson's disease.
At the age of 54 Gerald earned his pilot's license and purchased a Piper Tri-Pacer. After constructing an airstrip on the farm he and Maggie enjoying being able to fly to Purdue and to Illinois to visit two of their children between morning and evening farm chores. He also enjoyed flying his paraplane.
Gerald was active as a member of Waterford Mennonite Church, where a memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 14. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 13, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, Goshen.
Memorials may be given to Heifer Project International or Waterford Mennonite Church.

GOSHEN - Henry Yoder, 77, died at 3:26 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at home.
He was born Jan. 13, 1937, in Hutchinson, Kan., to the late Menno and Elizabeth (Nisly) Yoder.
On March 29, 1959, in Goshen, he married Edna M. Yoder.
Survivors include his wife; children Elaine and Denise (Phil) Bontrager and Gerald (Rebecca) and Wilbur (Kaylene) Yoder, all of Goshen; grandchildren Jade (Brian), Janessa, Makayla, Jackie (Anthony), Sarah, Josh (Megan), Tim, Jon, Jason, Joe and Jordan; great-grandson Jaxson Yoder; siblings Mary Ellen (Eldon) Bontrager, Clara Mae (Melvin) Nisly and Emery (Faye) and Edwin (Clara) Yoder.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jana, and siblings Glenn and Katie.
He purchased Clinton Center Feed in 1989.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, both at Woodlawn Church, 62861 C.R. 41, Goshen. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at the church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

GOSHEN - Herbert L. Yoder, 90, of Goshen, died at 1:50 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at IU Health Goshen Hospital.
He was born Sept. 13, 1924, in Elkhart County to Ordo and Lela (Buzzard) Yoder.
On May 5, 1945, he married Edna Troyer. She died June 5, 1998.
On April 24, 1999, in Elkhart County, he married Anna (Riegsecker) Miller. She survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are a daughter, Lori (Clifford) Yoder of Glendale, Ariz.; four sons, Delvon (Shirley) Yoder of Goshen, Craig (Nancy) Yoder of Fort Wayne and Byron (Becky) Yoder and Gary (Lisa) Yoder, both of Goshen; stepdaughter Bonnie (Woodrow) Bailey of Goshen; two stepsons, Don (Janet) Miller of Michigan City and Dean (Rhea) Miller of Middlebury; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven great-step-grandchildren; and two sisters, Joyce Leinbach of Markle and Lois Dickmeyer of Fort Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his first wife; parents; a sister, Carol Yoder; and a brother, Howard Yoder.
He was a member of North Goshen Mennonite Church for many years and was currently a member of First Mennonite Church in Middlebury. He was well known as a pitcher for fast-pitch softball and had been a truck driver for 50 years. He enjoyed celebrating his 90th birthday with his family in September.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at First Mennonite Church, 203 E. Lawrence St., Middlebury. There will be a private graveside service prior to the 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, memorial service at First Mennonite Church in Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Pastor Kent Miller. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery in Goshen.

Hobert D. Yoder, 81 of Iowa City died Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Mercy Hospital under the compassionate care of the Hospice Unit, surrounded by his family.
Hobert Devon Yoder was born June 24, 1932, in Kalona, IA the son of Ray A. and Kathryn P. (Miller) Yoder. He attended Hickory Grove and Center Grade Schools. He graduated from Kalona High School in 1950. On June 17, 1949, Hobert lost his right arm in a farm accident and faced the challenge of this life change with grace and determination.
He started his college education at Hesston College (Hesston, KS) and finished at Goshen College (Goshen, IN), graduating in 1954 with a BA in Education. Hobert received his MA in Education in 1960 from the University of Iowa.
On May 29, 1956, he was united in marriage to Lois Yoder of Newport News, VA. Hobert taught at Hickory Grove, Sharon Center, and Center Grade Schools. Moving to Iowa City, he taught special education at Central Junior High and then taught 6th grade at Herbert Hoover Elementary School for most of his career. He taught school for over 40 years before retiring in 1995.
Hobert was actively involved with church and youth: Cedar Bluff Community Church (Cedar Bluff, IA), coordinating bible school and youth activities; also in voluntary service in Mathis, TX where he taught 6th grade and planned/coordinated church youth and boys/girls clubs. At Crooked Creek Christian Camp (Washington, IA), Hobert was a counselor, teacher and naturalist. He was a longtime and beloved member of First Mennonite Church (Iowa City, IA).
Hobert enjoyed gardening, landscaping, and being in nature. Music filled his heart and mind. He shared this love of singing with others as a soloist, in ensembles and writing fun parodies for friends. Hobert loved his family and friends dearly and enthusiastically; quick to share, inquire about one's activities, and was wonderfully encouraging and nurturing. Hobert took pleasure in traveling with his wife to many places in the United States (including Hawaii and Alaska), the Holy Land, and Europe. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with travels to Australia and New Zealand.
He is survived by: his wife, Lois (Yoder) Yoder of Iowa City, IA; daughter, Libby Hochstetler (James) of Goshen, IN; son, DeVon Yoder (Jennifer) of Iowa City, IA; grandchildren, Hannah Hochstetler, Kathryn Hochstetler, Aidan Hochstetler, and Seth Yoder; sister, Marjorie Waybill (Nelson) of Harrisonburg, VA; and brother-in-law, Dale Swartzendruber of Kalona, IA. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Channin Marie Yoder; brother and sister-in-law, Robert K. and Elvira Yoder of Kalona, IA; and sister, Kathleen Swartzendruber of Kalona, IA.
A celebration of Hobert's life will be held at the First Mennonite Church (405 Myrtle Avenue, Iowa City, IA) on Saturday, May 10, at 10:30am with Pastors Bob & Mag Richer-Smith officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 4 to 7pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Hobert's memory to First Mennonite Church and Iowa City Hospice.

GOSHEN - Janice E. Yoder, 74, of Goshen, died at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at her daughter's home.
She was born March 30, 1939, in Kokomo to the late Ralph and Sevilla (Miller) Stahly.
She married Carlton E. Yoder on Dec. 7, 1958. He died May 31, 2011.
Surviving are her children, Bryan E. Yoder, Nathan R. Yoder, Lynette "Lyn" R. (Richard) Singleton and Todd J. Yoder, all of Goshen; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Don (Pat) Stahly of Syracuse.
Janice was a graduate of Bethany Christian High School, a member of Olive Mennonite Church and a self-employed bookkeeper.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Kathryn was a homemaker and worked with her family on the farm. In February 1950, they moved to the Lone Tree area to minister at Swank Church, where Kathryn was active in the ministry of the church. They purchased a farm near the church and farmed until moving back to Kalona in June of 1987. She was a member of the East Union Mennonite Church. Kathryn died on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at Pioneer Park in Lone Tree at the age of 95 years.
Kathryn is survived by three daughters: Eileen (Ray) Gooch of Grand Junction, Colorado; Mary (Dennis) Grimm of Kalona; Corrine (Dennis) Walker of Riverside; three sons: Merle (Leah) Yoder of Topeka, Indiana; Loran (Diane) Yoder; Kent (Rhonda) Yoder of Lone Tree; eleven grandchildren: Meredith Yoder, Ryan Yoder, Zach Grimm, Darren Yoder, Derek Walker, Chad Yoder, Kyle Yoder, Jordan Walker, Amanda Gooch Miner, Jessica Grimm Vilovchik, and Laura Yoder Ford; thirteen great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; a sister-in-law Arlene Miller of Kalona; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1998; three grandchildren: Joanna Grimm in 1977, Brad Walker in 1996, Ben Gooch in 2003; and a brother John Wertz Miller in 2007.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 22, 2014 at the East Union Mennonite Church, 5615 Gable Ave SW in rural Kalona. Pastor Firman Gingerich will officiate. Burial will be in the East Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-6 PM on Sunday at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. A general memorial fund has been established.

She was born May 23, 1937, in Stark County, to the late John L. and Malinda Slabaugh Miller.
On May 6, 1965, she was united in marriage to Alvin W. Yoder and he preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 2013. She also was preceded in death by an infant sister, Sarah Miller; and sister, Delilah Yoder.
She is survived by her five children, Ruby (Jacob) Eicher of Belvidere, Tenn., Nancy (Marvin) Helmuth and Eldon (Emily) Yoder, both of Rushsylvania, Owen (Doretta) Yoder of Bellefontaine and Edwin (Gloria) Yoder of Weatherby, Mo.; one sister, Lydiann (Henry) Sommers of Unionville, Mo.; one brother, Dennis Miller of Rushsylvania; 20 grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Elmer Z. Yoder of Hartville.
She was a member of the Belle Center New Order Amish Church.

A son, Gene; a grandson, Jeffery Brenneman; five brothers: Elmer, Lyle, Melvin, Merle and Lloyd Bachman, and four sisters: Elna Brenneman, Lavern Slagle, Ellen Miller and Vilma Brenneman preceded her in death.
Lourene was a member of the First Mennonite Church in Iowa City where she taught Sunday school and bible school and was passionate about the bible memory program. She rewarded the kids for their memory work with a pizza/trampoline party every year. Lourene liked to write poetry for those around her at important times in their lives. She made the best cherry pies, apple dumplings, cinnamon rolls and haystack suppers. Lourene enjoyed sewing and quilting and could whip up a comforter for anyone for any occasion. She loved teddy bears, baskets, frogs and gardening. After God, her family was the most important part of her life and she especially loved the time she spent with her grandchildren having picnics, taking walks, overnight stays and sledding down the hill.

On April 30, 1960 he married Lucy Weirich.
She survives along with three children, Brenda (Aaron) Wilkinson, Lori (Kendel) Martin and Neal (Sarah) Yoder, all of Goshen; seven grandchildren, Sara (David) Stump, Emily (Brandon) Denning, Tim Nisley, Peter (Jessica Schirch) Martin, Andrew Martin, Madison Fry and Carson Yoder; and five great grandchildren, Jackson, Hannah and Henry Stump and Maddy and Mila Denning.

A member of North Goshen Mennonite Church, Mr. Yoder volunteered with Loveway.
He retired from Bayer Corporation after 38 years.

A 6:30 p.m. memorial service will be conducted on Friday, May 9, 2014, at North Goshen Mennonite Church.

GOSHEN - Marilyn J. Yoder, 84, passed away early Monday morning, Sept. 15, at IU Health Goshen Hospital where she had been since Sept. 6.
She was born Nov. 26, 1929, in Archbold, Ohio, to LaVern and Dora (Miller) Burkholder.
On Aug. 15, 1958, she married Vernon D. Yoder in Archbold. He died March 25, 1999.
Survivors include two daughters, Anita (Bryan) Kehr of Newton, Kan., and Diane Yoder of Goshen; two sons, Curt (Joanna) Yoder of New Paris and Chris Yoder of Rockville, Md.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol (Elden) Heimbach of Selinsgrove, Pa.; and a sister-in-law, Donnabelle Burkholder and a brother, Eugene Robert "Bob" Burkholder, both of Archbold.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, LaVern J. "Bud" Burkholder.
An area resident since 1964, Marilyn graduated from Goshen College in 1954. She taught elementary school for 20 years. She also worked at Mennonite Mutual Aid from 1978 to 1993. She was involved in fantasy football and ran the Greencroft Grannies fantasy football team.
An active member of Waterford Mennonite Church, she taught Sunday school and was involved in the Thursday morning prayer group.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Waterford Mennonite Church, where a memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday morning, Sept. 18. Burial will be in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery.

MIDDLEBURY - Mary L. Yoder, 74, passed away Saturday, May 10, at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born in 1939, in Hutchinson, Kan., to David and Mattie (Yoder) Schrock.
On July 25, 1959, she married Ray Yoder in Wakarusa.
She is survived by two children, Laurie (Tim) Mast of ElDorado, Ark. and Len A. (Beverly) Yoder of White Pigeon, Mich.; three siblings, Edward Schrock, Susan Kurtz and Barbara Weaver; brother-in-law Gene Bontreger; half-brothers David Schrock and Robert Schrock ; two grandchildren, Audrey (Daniel) Amsler and Robyn (Daniel) Stinson; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Alvin Schrock, Elizabeth Beck and Alma Bontreger.
She loved the Lord and her family.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 12, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, May 13, at Holdeman Mennonite Church.

Yoder, Mary Schrock, 74, of Middlebury Indiana died May 10, 2014 at Elkhart, IN. She was born August 17, 1939 at Hutchinson, Kansas to David and Mattie Schrock. On July 25, 1959 at Wakarusa, IN she was married to Ray Yoder, who was born May 20, 1939 and survives.

Merle S. Yoder, age 74, of Topeka, IN passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Parkview Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on May 26, 1940 to Henry and Katherine (Miller) Yoder in Kalona, Iowa. On December 17, 1966 he married Leah Yoder, she survives.
He received his high school GED in 1963. He had worked as a truck driver for forty years and retired in 2005 from Heartland Express of Iowa City, Iowa. He enjoyed NASCAR and followed the Earnhart Racing Team, and collected Allis Chalmers toy tractors.
Surviving are his wife, Leah of Topeka; a son, Meredith (Heather) Yoder of Fort Wayne; a grandson Tyler Yoder of Churubusco; four step-grandchildren, Tyler, Britny, Lexi, and Jayden; five siblings, Eileen (Ray) Gooch of Grand Junction, CO, Mary (Dennis) Grimm of Kalona, Iowa, Corrine (Dennis) Walker of Riverside, Iowa, Loran (Diane) Yoder, and Kent (Rhonda) Yoder both of Lone Tree, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his father 1998 and his mother in September 2014.
A funeral service will be held in Mr. Yoder's honor on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 11 AM at The Topeka Mennonite Church with Rev. Larry Byrnes officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Topeka, IN.

GOSHEN - Pauline A. Yoder, 99, died quietly Wednesday morning, Nov. 26, at Courtyard Healthcare.
She was born in Goshen on May 30, 1915, to Lewis Franklin and Alice (Miller) Phillips.
Pauline graduated from Goshen High School in 1933 and received a teaching degree from Manchester College in 1935.
She was married to Leonard Yoder on Dec. 27, 1936.
She lived most of her life on C.R. 36 east of Goshen, farming and being a homemaker.
She was an active member of Rock Run Church of the Brethren and joined Eighth Street Mennonite Church in 1958. She was an original board member for the Michiana Mennonite Relief Sale and supported the sale with numerous donations of quilts and wall hangings.
She and her husband loved to travel and toured many states with their children. Over her lifetime she visited all 50 states and four continents. Her favorite pastimes were quilting, needlepoint, playing board games, cards and watching football and basketball.
Survivors include three sons, Jay of Goshen, Ray (Jackie) of Westfield and Max (Donna) of Niles, Mich.; three daughters, Sue (Nevin) Troyer of Goshen, Lou (Jerry Scholand) Detwiler of Homer, Alaska, and Zoe (Wayne) Stanger of Goshen; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Pat E. Yoder in 1979; a son-in-law, Jay Nelson Eisenhour in 1999; a grandson, Brett Walquist in 2013; two great-grandsons, Seth Eisenhour in 1991 and Michael Yoder in 2005; and three brothers, George, Earl and Paul Phillips.
Friends and family may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A Monday, Dec. 1, funeral service will be conducted at Eighth Street Mennonite Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Rock Run Cemetery.

GOSHEN - Sarah H. Yoder, 90, of Goshen, died at 8:20 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 29, 1924, in Goshen, to Harry and Fannie (Hochstetler) Miller.
On April 13, 1944, in Goshen, she married Harry A. Yoder. He died Oct. 31, 2004.
Surviving are her children, Marilyn (Elmer) Miller, Carolyn (Perry S.) Miller, Raymond (Esther) Yoder, Wayne (Doretta) Yoder and Linda Sue Yoder, all of Goshen, Ruth Ann Otto and Laura Mae (Dean) Gingerich, both of Middlebury, Edith (Lyle) Miller of Millersburg, and Howard (Wilma) Yoder of Middlebury; and daughter-in-law Edith Yoder of Goshen.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son Marion Yoder; son-in-law David Otto; grandson Nelson Miller; and great-granddaughter Grace Bender.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, and after 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the family's residence, 61300 C.R. 33, Goshen. A funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, also at the family's residence. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery in Goshen.

ELKHART - William "Billy" Yoder Jr., 66, of Elkhart and formerly of Middlebury, died at 5:28 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born July 31, 1948, in Goshen to the late William and Elizabeth (Miller) Yoder.
Surviving are two brothers, Clarence (Vi) Yoder of Sarasota, Fla., and Robert (Marsha) Yoder of New Paris and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty (Harley) Wingard.
Billy was a member of Goshen College Mennonite Church where he was baptized July 12, 1981. He did miscellaneous assembly work and day programs for ADEC of Bristol. He was very thankful for his brothers and the caring staff at various group homes.
Visitation will be for two hours prior to the 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, funeral service at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St., Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Pastor Kent Miller of First Mennonite Church in Middlebury. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery in Middlebury.

She was born March 4, 1924 at Graymont, IL to Nyle and Iva (McCormick) Bertsche. Nyle was born September 8, 1898 and died August 11, 1938. Iva was born April 11, 1901 and died October 16, 1985
On November 21, 1945 at Meadows, IL she was married to Clair Yordy, who was born October 20, 1922 and died February 14, 1994.
Surviving are children, Gary (Sharl) and Jeff (Jeannie), four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a sister, Ruth Bertsche Blumershine.
Her siblings, Milton Bertsche, John Richard Bertsche, Dale Bertsche, and Frances Bertsche Slagel preceded her in death.

Carolyn graduated from Bellflower High School in 1949. She completed her registered nurses training August 1952 at the Mennonite Hospital, Bloomington, Illinois.
She married Wesley Jay Zehr on December 21, 1952. She worked at the Burnham City Hospital and Tuberculosis Sanitarium and raised their three young boys while Jay was in veterinary school. She was a member of College Mennonite Church since 1960. Her compassion for others led her to become one of the first nurses at the Greencroft Healthcare Center, and later, a volunteer for several local nonprofit organizations.
She is survived by Jay and their three sons, Eric (Luisa) Zehr of Goshen, Brian (Kyla) Zehr of Ft. Wayne, and Jeff (Lana) Zehr of Inman, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Darla (Steve) Shrock of Phoenix, Ariz., Amy Zehr of Indianapolis, Evan, Erin and Andrew Zehr of Ft. Wayne, Lindsey (Jake) Adams of Greenville, S.C., and Allison Zehr of Inman, S.C.; one great-grandson, Samuel Shrock; a sister, Charlene (Roger) Haines of Mishawaka; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 1, 2014, in the Koinonia Room of College Mennonite Church.
An 11 a.m., Saturday, August 2, 2014, memorial service will be conducted at the church with Pastors Phil Waite, College Mennonite Church and Dawn Yoder Harms, Assembly Mennonite Church, officiating.

Zehr, Carolyn Marie Sommer, 83, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died July 27, 2014 at the same place. She was born May 17, 1931 at Bloomington, IL to Raymond and Fannie (Nafziger) Sommer. On December 21, 1952 she was married to W. Jay Zehr, who was born July 24, 1928 and survives.

Harold was born on April 27, 1927, the son of the late Stephen and Stella (Martin) Zimmerman. He was married 67 years on October 4th to Verna (Hess) Zimmerman.
Harold was a member of Dove Westgate Church and very active in missions with a focus on Russia. He founded and was president of Home Fellowship Leaders International, was involved in Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship, and served on the board of Teen Challenge. Harold was one of the founders of the Jesus Festivals.
Harold was a businessman and president/owner of Zimmerman Industries. He invented the mobile concrete mixer and held other equipment related patents.
In addition to his wife, Harold is survived by five children, Myron Zimmerman, husband of Cathryn, of Needham, MA, Philip Zimmerman, husband of Julie, of Goshen, IN, Cynthia Martin, wife of Gerald, of Lancaster, PA, Joan Stoner, wife of Jerry, of Denver, PA and Fred Zimmerman, husband of Heather, of Richardson, TX; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a sister, Elaine Pierantoni of Bradenton, FL.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 4, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Dove Westgate Church, 1755 W. Main St., Ephrata. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 5, at 11 a.m. at Dove Westgate Church, with Pastor Deryl Hurst officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Born in Terre Hill, he was the son of the late Eli and Mary (Nolt) Zimmerman.
Irvin was a dairy farmer for 36 years in the Fleetwood area. In 1992, he started Zimmerman Pet Food and was the sole owner/operator of it until November 2013.
He was a member of the Walnuttown Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Leonard Zimmerman, Denver; Eli Clair married to Barbara (Seibel) Zimmerman, Fleetwood; Irvin, Jr. married to Janelle (Weaver) Zimmerman, Ephrata; Roseann married to Lloyd Byler, Choteau, MT; 13 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and five sisters: Ada wife of the late Ezra Eby, Martindale; Mary Ella wife of the late Eli Eby, Martindale; Alta wife of the late Russel Hinkle, Fleetwood; Edna wife of Willis Martin, Arbela, MO and Anna married to Elvin Martin, Fleetwood.

Clyde was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired after 16 years from Dart Container as a truck driver. He loved vacationing, going on cruises, and especially spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed by his family and his wife, to whom he was married for 10 short years. He is survived by two sons, Eric husband of Karen (Dennis) Zimmerman of Waldorf, Maryland and Jason Zimmerman of Lancaster; step-daughter, Shawna wife of Marlon Horst of Ephrata; 2 grandsons, Andrew and Matthew; two step-granddaughters, Makayla and Amber Horst; 3 brothers, Carl, Earl married to Jane, and Ken married to Donna; 4 sisters, Mary, Arlene, Erma married to Jim Birky, and Ruth Eckert; and two sisters-in-law, Doris and June.

Surviving in addition to her husband are 4 sons, John David, husband of Doris (Hoover) Zimmerman of Rushville, NY, Amos H., husband of Lucy (Zimmerman) Zimmerman of Rushville, NY, Paul Ray, husband of Pauline (Zimmerman) Zimmerman of Narvon, Aaron H. Zimmerman at home; 5 daughters, Esther May Zimmerman, Anna Mary Zimmerman, Emma H. Zimmerman, Ellen H. Zimmerman, all at home, Lydia H. Zimmerman of Ephrata; and 8 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Issac Z. Hurst and 2 grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 25, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., from the late residence, 329 Pleasant Valley Rd., Ephrata. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Conestoga Mennonite Church, West Earl Township. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.

LEBANON Raymond G. Zimmerman, 70, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Susan H. (Martin) Zimmerman. They had celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on July 29, 2013. Born in Lancaster County, on October 16, 1943, he was the son of the late John J. and Lena (Good) Zimmerman. He was a member of the Richland Mennonite Church.
He enjoyed the dairy farm where he worked most of his life.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Charles R., husband of Susan M. (Weaver) of Myerstown, Cynthia F., wife of Gerald H. Zimmerman of Newmanstown, Barbara S., wife of Mark P. Auker of Harrison, Ark., and Kathleen J., wife of Earl R. Horning of Myerstown, PA.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Ann, on October 2, 1986.
He is also survived by brothers, Melvin G., husband of Kathryn M. (Zimmerman) of Richland, Richard G., husband of Vera Mae (Martin) of Lititz, Ernest G., husband of Anna Ruth (Risser) of Belle Rive, Ill., and Kervin G., husband of Janet (Hoover) of Myerstown; and sisters, Mary Jane, wife of Harry B. Martin of Myerstown, Miriam, wife of Harold B. Good of Stevens, Martha, wife of Lloyd Z. Snyder of Fredericksburg, and Erma, wife of Clair G. Martin of Myerstown.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy, and a sister, Anna Mae (Zimmerman) Lehman.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Richland Mennonite Church, 399 N. Race St., Richland 17087. Vera was a member of Springville Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference, Ephrata. She had volunteered at Ephrata Re-Uzit store for many years.
Vera is survived by 2 sons, Harvey E. (Grace) Martin of Orrstown, Luke E. (Sandra) Martin of Lititz; 5 daughters, Arlene E. (Lawrence M.) Martin of McClure, Erma E. (Noah Jr.) Weaver of Manheim, Marian E. (Harold) Musser of Lititz, Grace E. (Marvin) Zeiset of Manheim, Anita (Glen E.) Martin of Stevens; a daughter-in-law, Kaye Martin of Lewistown; 3 stepsons, Luke Ray (Arlene) Zimmerman of Ephrata, Paul (Judith) Zimmerman of Snover, MI, Eli (Geraldine) Zimmerman of Omaha, NE; 4 stepdaughters, Lena Mae (Donald) Burkholder of Stevens, Mary Weber of Reinholds, Ruth Ann (Marvin) Weaver of Selinsgrove, Marian (James) Oberholtzer of Ephrata; 37 grandchildren; 88 great grandchildren; 35 step grandchildren; 135 step great grandchildren; 28 step great great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Amos W. Surviving are two sons, Steven Zook and Rodney (Debbie) Zook; stepchildren: Lonnie (Lori) Martin, Lonnie (Lori) Martin, Kim (Rick) Boarders, and Dan (Ginger) Pyles; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three brothers, Allan Zook, Alvin (Evelyn) Zook, and John (Rosemary) Zook.
A daughter, Monica and three sisters, Mary Erb, Erma Zimmerman, and Luella Bitikofer preceded him in death.
Memorial services were held September 3, 2014 at Hesston Mennonite Church, Hesston, KS with burial in Eastlawn Cemetery, Hesston, KS.

During the fall of 1943 while attending Eastern Mennonite School, she met a new friend, Alphie Zook, and eventually married on June 24, 1950, at Lauvers Mennonite Church in Juniata County. Following her education at Eastern Mennonite School, she attended nursing school at Lancaster General Hospital and graduated with her R.N. in Nursing in May 1950. During the following summer of 1950, while Alphie was a teacher/principal of Belleville Mennonite School, she began nursing with Dr. Melvin Helfrick and assisted Alphie in raising chickens and three boys. When Alphie was called to Eastern Mennonite College to be dean of men and professor of education, the family moved to Harrisonburg, Va. Soon thereafter, she assisted with building a new house and continued working as a nurse part time in private duty at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, Bridgewater Home, and private homes.
Through the years, she enjoyed traveling with Alphie or friends through the United States and many places around the world. During her years of life, Mary was the ultimate nurse to patients, often cleaning their houses, organizing their possessions, and cooking their meals. At home, she was a gracious homemaker and cook to many visitors to EMC, and an impeccable seamstress who made wedding dresses, dinner jackets for her husband and boys, and quilts for her grandchildren.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Alphie (Oct. 11, 1999) as well as seven brothers, Paul, Samuel, John, Aaron, David, Jacob and Luke and one sister, Ruth.
Survivors include her three sons, (1) Leander and Martha (Hulse) with children: Cathy Mlinarcik and husband, Jonathan, (JT) with children: Halle, Jon Grady, Ryder and Dillon; Mary Helen Foster and husband, Neal, with children: Ephraim, Eagan and Rachel; Jonathan; Jane Tiller and husband, Joshua, with child: Sophia; and Abigail; (2) Ethan and Carla with children: Jason and wife, Noelle, with child: Kaimbrie; and Katrina; (3) Darrell and Gwen with children: Kristina with children: Azlynn, David, Kayley and Emmanuel and Brianna.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening, Jan. 4, 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 5, 12:30 p.m. at Park View Mennonite Church. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 5, at Park View Mennonite Church and broadcast to VMRC. A private interment will be at Weavers Mennonite Church cemetery.

Zuercher, Marie M. Ruby, 82, of Orrville, Ohio died, January 6, 2014 at her own home. She was born May 2, 1931 in Shakespeare, Ontario, Canada to Joshua and Lena (Zehr) Ruby. She attended the Ontario Mennonite Bible Institute in Kitchener, Ont. where she met Arlin Zuercher. They were married on July 7, 1962. He survives. She was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Mennonite Church.
She is survived by children, Marvin (Glenda) Zuercher of Wooster, Steve (Lisa) Zuercher of Apple Creek and Carolyn Zuercher of the home; grandchildren, Austin, Evan, Adriane, Nathan Rowena and Emma Zuercher; a sister-in-law, Isabel Ruby of Tavistock, Ont., Can.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Andrew Zehr; and a brother, Vernon Ruby.
Memorial service was January 11, 2014 at 7:00 PM at Chestnut Ridge Mennonite Church, Orrville. Family graveside service was held in the Kidron Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Mary was an active member involved with the church choir, the women's Sewing Circle. Music was an integral part of Mary Louise's life. She was involved with the Homemakers Quartet for over 20 years, touching many people's lives. Mary Louise and Ellis never saw retirement as an option. For 12 years following retirement, they devoted their time to voluntary services at Mennonite Campgrounds in five different states, Transport for Christ, and visiting family and friends around the country.
She is survived by her children: David Zuercher of Orrville, Penni Martin of Spencerville, Ohio, Candace Miller of Kidron, Tobi Zuercher of Wadsworth, Ohio, LaRue Zuercher of Apple Creek, Bernie Zuercher of Newton, Kansas, and Ian Zuercher of Goshen, Indiana. Mary Louise is blessed with 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. One sister, Erma Lou Sommer of Wooster also survives.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ellis Zuercher
Memorial service was May 4, 2014 at the Kidron Mennonite Church.
